Wired for Good Music

Let it flow, while we all dance.

Wired for Good Music

Not what’s trending, not what’s hot

not what every chart forgot

I want the stuff that sticks like glue

a melody that walks me through

Not the polished, overplayed

not the hits that sound the same

give me rust, give me breath

give me something that’s got depth

I don’t need a million streams

or fancy words in stitched-up themes

just a song that stops me cold

makes me feel what can’t be told

The kind that creeps in late at night

cracks the dark with something right

not a show, not meant to stun

just a line that comes, then runs

It doesn’t care for perfect pitch

or shiny suits, or staged-out kitsch

it doesn’t rush, it doesn’t beg

just taps along and shakes a leg

A voice that’s rough around the edge

a bassline humming near the ledge

a story told without pretense

a sound that breaks through every fence

You find it on some dusty reel

or hidden in a homemade deal

an echo from a smoky room

a trumpet sighing into gloom

It’s not the fame, it’s not the gloss

it’s finding soul in every loss

a hush between the notes that hit

a silence that knows when to sit

So plug it in, don’t fix the hiss

I live for tracks that sound like this

raw and aching, low and wide

a kind of truth you cannot hide

Let others chase what’s sleek and fast

I’ll take the tunes that tend to last

the ones that hum, and wait, and grow

until they’re all you’ve left to know
