No One but You
I don’t cry for you now
not like I did at first
when she walked in smiling
wearing my perfume
You held her hand
like it meant nothing
like we were nothing
I told her everything
She was my best friend
she knew how we kissed
she knew what you meant to me
she knew too much
I packed your things
folded the shirts you left behind
I didn’t shout
I didn’t beg
I just watched the door close
And I moved on
found peace in small ways
learned to sleep without checking my phone
woke up without waiting for your voice
But still
some part of me stayed behind
back in that kitchen
where you held my waist
while the kettle whistled
I don’t want you back
not the one who left
not the one who lied
but the one you were before her
The one who kissed my shoulder
and didn’t need to say a word
The one I trusted
more than anyone
I moved on
I really did
but my heart
wants no one
but you
