Winter Solstice
Winter Solstice and SAD Acrostic
Sad that the days
Are so dreary and
Dark comes so early
When the days shorten minute by minute
I am reminded that soon
Night will come later
The holiday season
Enters and I think the
Rains are coming, but
Soon the days will be longer
Only we must wait until a few days before Christmas,
Letting the
Season cycle through, and
Then my days will
Illuminate, and with moment
Comes more sunlight until the next
End of the year

I REALLY struggle with all the dark greyness in my current jurisdiction. For me, the Winter Solstice is the point of "enough already!" This is an absolutely poetic timely reminder of crossing the threshold to more light (before I go nuts.) Thank you for writing!
