winter's beautiful tricks
a wintry poem
By Alexandria StanwyckPublished 11 months ago • Updated 11 months ago • 1 min read
winter's a trickster,
a child who likes to play innocent tricks.
it heard us say
"it doesn't snowed here much"
and talk about how mild-tempered it is.
so it decided to play the best prank yet,
and at the same time,
turn us into liars.
***
but what a pretty trick it is,
turning our world into a snow globe,
twisting it round and round,
watching the snow fluttering about,
twirling in the air,
then landing gently,
covering the earth
in the purest form of white.
***
so yes,
winter's a trickster,
but what beautiful tricks it plays.
