Winter Dying Steam Haiku
Soon spring is master of the cold

Winter dies – spring comes
Over the rim of my cup
I’m cold - steam goes up

Author’s Note:
This haiku captures the transition between winter and spring in a single moment—a cup of warm tea or coffee, with steam rising into the cool air.
The contrast between the lingering cold and the emerging warmth reflects not only the changing seasons but also the feeling of waiting and transformation that comes with moving from something old to something new.
The person in the poem expresses a feeling of cold; I wish for my inner self to be warmed, just as nature is now started up by the sun, and to be filled with a budding joy—fleeting as the steam from the cup.
