Wildlife Paradise

Living outside, in the rainbow tapestry of life

By Wise Wild ChildPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

Wildlife Paradise

For what shapes me, I have a story to tell

Of a lifestyle us westerners usually repel

Before the heavy cold and darkness fell

Windows of sunshine and magical spells

Days of gazes at the mesmerising bluebells

The fascinating forest, where I dwelled

Where I could truly belong, because I rebelled

Had no reason or need for whistles or bells

A sanctuary in secret, where I lived in stealth

The petals of a violet wildflower, in which to delve

Absorbed in golden rays and sunset haze for health

Rusty leaves in the breeze are all I need for wealth

Life enriching brown soil over paper with a ten

The gleaming green leaves over paper worth less

The bling of glittering white frost, a test

Of where my awe and honour should invest

Resented paying rent

So lived in a hammock tent

Months at a time spent

Learning to comprehend..

All those days spent when

There would be feelings of dread

Over how I should dress

My hair being a mess

Feeling constant stress

In a state of unrest

In jobs I’d detest,

From being oppressed

To truly blessed

I have lived in a mansion

Houses with gadgets packed in

But always needing more expansion

From a cement encased contraption

Minimal white tunnel to tasteful feature wall

Trying not to fall from a beige breakfast stall

To the passionate enchantment of a fireball

The kaleidoscope of the wild cathedral

When I saw the true tapestry of nature and humanity

The colours of the universe weaved into our reality

When I could be in peace, equally with weeds and trees

Everything that I had feared, became my dream

What had seemed dirty is actually clean

Seeing the intricacy of our embodiment of all we see,

Connected to all, I was finally free

Without light, we are all the same grey, plain and bland

But the pigment seeked, make us all unique, from plants to man

Together, we are Gaia, the entire spectrum of our land

From the clear ocean reflecting the rainbows of our light bands

To the eternal shapes and colours of our desert sand
