Sometimes, I think about a girl named Heather

whose empathy was light as a feather.

She floated along,

never landing too long.

Always with the boys

she treated as toys.

Oh, she feigned it well,

and you’d think she was swell.

But she was a dumpster fire

with a head full of disconnected wire.

Once a fool, I thought she cared.

And with my love I dared.

I saw her outer beauty,

but her inner ugly I didn’t see.

I thought she was the one,

but I was wrong by a ton.

No need to talk of the past.

Reality hit hard and fast.

She wasn’t the angel for me.

She was something that crawled from the sea.

Yes, with Heather I was wrong.

And the price I paid was long.

But a lesson I learned

has left me burned.

Heathers deserves no sympathy

For she never had empathy.
