She grew like a wildflower Swaying in the wind and sun, Even when it were dark for days Her unique petals never hung.
She didn’t know where she was going And made mistakes along the way, But she knew that where she was headed Was better than anywhere she’d previously stayed.
She’d been stomped on and wilted, Of the past she could still feel the burn. But a wildflower never gives up, Instead uses it all to learn.
She’ll stand tall like a redwood tree Seeming never to fall down, But inside - emotionally - Is where her true strength can be found.
With everything she’s been through She still chooses love, To keep pushing forward And will never give up.
Because she is a wildflower And nothing can keep her down. She’ll push and strive until she finds home And can bury her roots in the ground.
