Wildfires

Inspired by Wildfires Around The World

The flames stretch up like arms

Reaching for heaven’s door

The blaze begs to be seen

Creating hell on the forest floor.

Inferno cries, once dormant

Awaken with a fiery sneer,

Becoming a rage that never stops

An ominous wrath we can all fear.

A tantrum we try to ignore

Until shouts turn into a strike

Entire villages turned to ash

Incinerating our way of life.

We fight the flames head-on

But never change our ways

If we don’t take drastic action

We might soon see our final days.

Thanks for reading!:) This poem was inspired by all the headlines about wildfires in the news over the summer. Here's some interesting ones I just read

I also wanted to note that not all wildfires are bad! Wildland fires can be devastating, but fire has a natural role to play in many ecosystems. Learn more here :https://education.nationalgeographic.org/resource/ecological-benefits-fire/
