Wilderness of Decay
Written for The Gabriel Huizenga 'Lost-ish' challenge.
sometimes the questions make little sense.
overthought, like a muse gone rogue.
constantly warping... tongue-tied,
twisted... leading me to
a secret nature.
a secret fear.
forever
chasing
ghosts.

Well expressed! Tongue-tied, twisted, secret fear. Isn't that melancholic loss of being able to create, to express the thoughts inside of us, the fear of all writers and creative people?
Rogue is a trend 🌹🌹🌹
Overthought questions like a muse gone rogue? Why I didn't think of that before?! It's the perfect description - questions supposed to inspire us like a muse, but overthinking can totally kill it and then you're there with nothing but more questions. Great poem!

Interesting train of thought. My mind often dips into overdrive, so this is relatable.
Oh, I could get lost in the Auroras anytime!
I realized I read but forgot to leave a heart….so rude of me.
Woot woot, way to go Lamar with honourable mention this week!!
Wooohooooo congratulations on your Leaderboard placement! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
Beautiful, every now and again, the ghost chase you.
Wonderful entry to Gabriel's challenge! Love a good nonet and this one definitely hit the mark!
Well-wrought, Lamar! A poignant exploration of the thinker's dilemma!
Fabulous!!! Superbly penned!!!❤️❤️💕
I love your nonet!
Great job… with decreasing syllables each line. Especially like: “sometimes the questions make little sense. overthought, like a muse gone rogue. constantly warping... tongue-tied”✅
Wow! Love this so much! You basically wrote about the same train of thought I did for this challenge, but you expressed it so perfectly and in so few words, I am very much in awe. Well done!
Mysterious and melancholy indeed!
Oooo, this was so profound! Loved your take on this challenge!
Exceptional work, Lamar. The line, “a secret nature” is so mysterious.
💙 love this
Brilliant use of the nonet form!! I love this piece, Lamar - stellar wordsmithing and interpretation of the prompt...thanks so much for sharing and entering this! :)
Love when the form matches the theme, great entry
Oh, very clever!
This is fabulous. I love the diminishing lines. And this "overthought, like a muse gone rogue," so relatable. Well done, my friend.
FOrever chasing ghosts...real nice. that led to a beautifully haunting ending
