Why’d you have to hurt me?

Why’d you have to treat me so bad?

I tried to be a good child

I tried to give you everything I had

I tried to be so perfect

But it was never good enough for you

Why’d you let her hurt me?

Why’d you let her treat me so bad?

I tried to make her love me

But I always seemed to make her mad

I tried to be so perfect

But it was never good enough for her

Why’d you have to hurt me Daddy?

Wasn’t my love enough?

You were supposed to protect me Daddy

But you’re the one who hurt me the most

Why don’t you love me right Daddy?

I tried to be so perfect

But it will never be good enough for you

So please just tell me now

Why’d you have to hurt me Daddy?
