Who Saved You When You Couldn't Save Yourself?

No one.

Not the voices I whispered for in the dark,

not the hands I reached for, trembling,

not the prayers I let slip between cracked lips,

hoping someone, anyone, would hear.

The walls did not break for me.

The sky did not split open in mercy.

The earth did not quake in protest

as I sank, weightless, into the silence.

I did not rise. I did not fight.

I did not claw my way back to the light.

I did not become my own savior,

a phoenix from the ash

no, I was only the ash, scattered and forgotten.

And still, I am here.

Not because of rescue, not because of will,

but because the world does not stop turning

for the ones it leaves behind.

No one saved me.

Not even me.

And yet

I remain.

The words that stayed with me the most: "No one saved me. Not even me. And yet I remain." Serious impact!

Powerful words, but beautifully written. Well done.

Gosh this made me so sad. I thought it was beautifully written but I hope this wasn’t based (solely) on personal experience. Wishing you all the best.
