Who Needs WAR? We need Peace
Pray like never before for world peace, before it is too late

Who Needs WAR? We need Peace
Beneath the sky, the smoke still drifts,
Echoes of battles, broken gifts.
The land is scarred, the air is thin,
Where once was life, there’s only sin.
The cries of those who never knew
What war would take, what it would do.
Empty fields where children ran,
Now haunted by the ghosts of man.
No peace to find, no light to hold,
Just stories of the brave, grown cold.
A world once full, now torn apart,
War leaves its mark upon the heart.
And yet, we march, we chase the flame,
Not learning from the ruin, the shame.
For what’s been lost can never be found,
In the ashes of a world War Bound.

"For what’s been lost can never be found..." Yes, indeed. But it seems this world and the people are not ready to stop fighting...
Love it!
A powerful and haunting piece. You captured the lasting impact of war so well. 🌍💔
This poem captures the devastating aftermath of war so powerfully. The imagery of smoke, broken gifts, and haunted fields paints a vivid picture of destruction and loss. It’s haunting to think about how, despite the scars left on the land and the heart, humanity continues to chase that elusive, destructive flame. The line “what’s been lost can never be found” really hits hard. War takes so much, and yet, we don’t seem to learn. Truly thought-provoking.
Well said!
Wow, that’s a lot of gut wrenching truth Marie. Very nicely said.
