Who are you to say I am too much?

I have loved as fiercely as the star does shine,

brilliantly upon the dancing leaves,

the mist-clad meadows and the

tiny walking creatures of light's creation.

I have cared as deeply as the ocean does roar,

loudly before the deep grooves

of the stony shore, ever gently

shaped by time's merciless march

and water's persistent power.

I have hated as harshly as the land does crumble,

revealing ancient molten stone

roiling and bubbling without gentle order or

thoughtful planning; an unstoppable inevitability.

I have despaired as frequently as the sky does change,

from apocalyptic hurricanes brought to

an unprepared shore, to

cracking lightning unleashing upon

a young forest, ripe to burn.

I am a culmination of all I have felt before,

every tidal emotion and burning emptiness

made flesh by nature's will and power.

Who are you to tell me

that all of this beauty inside me

is too much for this world?

It’s powerful to see how love, hate, and despair can all shape who we are. No one should tell you that your feelings are too much!

Wow powerful and well put. Most deserving of top story and more! Congrats πŸŽ‰

  • Having been someone who was told they were "too much", I really felt this. My therapist told me it wasn't true though. she told me I haven't met anybody who was enough. Thanks for sharing yourself. ☺️

This piece expresses the depth and diversity of emotions in a remarkable relationship with nature. Here, love is described as a light that brings every element of life to life. The reference to care connected with the depth of the ocean is incredible, signaling how vast and enduring the emotional burden of care can be. Reflecting on the roar of ocean waves and the cruelty of time highlights how we should balance continuity and changeβ€”this is a profound thought. 🌊⏳ By linking the feeling of hatred to the crumbling earth, it reveals how negative emotions are also an essential part of life, appearing unexpectedly and without planning. Finally, your assertion of identifying yourself as a culmination of all experiences conveys that there should be no attempt to limit the beauty within ourselves in this world. This symbolizes the courage to fully accept the emotions that reside within us all. The poem not only vividly portrays personal experiences but also challenges us to cherish and embrace our complexity. It sends an important message that we need not fear the strength and depth of our emotions; instead, we should regard them as an essential part of our existence. Amazing writing! ✨

πŸ‘πŸΎ You are not too much, if they can't handle you and your beauty, they don't deserve you!

I resonate with this poem all too deeply. I have often been told I am too much (you know this firsthand lol), but I have never thought about it like that. Brilliant work. :)
