Who am I

After the Parade

By Remi StormPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

All the colors and lights are amazing!

Do you see the crowd?

I wonder if they know about the galaxies we found.

I feel like I'm famous. Riding around town.

On this float like a chariot, looking down.

They all love me living out loud.

Screaming they love me because I'm so proud.

They tell me I'm fabulous.

That I'm one of a kind.

They all want to be my friends.

Wondering who is in my love line.

In the height it's addicting, exhilarating, and free.

Then the music stops and it's just me.

Now the lights are fading as it falls night.

I start to realize it's back to real life.

The darkness inside me starts to creep up.

Reminding me of the emptiness my life has become.

Homeless to often, often without a home.

I'm used to this life, always alone.

I'm a survivor, a warrior made from the streets.

But if you ask anyone, I'm the happiest you'll meet.

Always inspiring others but never myself.

I've been waging a war called my mental health.
