Serenity has settled upon me
A new dawn breaks the clouds
Calmness has settled in my soul
Understanding has whispered to me
There are gray clouds outside
But the sky is not dark
The universe is no longer in turmoil
I see my reflection in the broken glass
Relaxed and serene
A sigh escapes my lips
Pure air fills my lungs
And my heart explodes with compassion
Thoughts invade my mind
Knowing that I am misunderstood
Willing the world to see me
Wanting to reach out and stop the bleeding
For the suffering are calling out
But no one hears them
The quiet ones watch in the background
Waiting for their turn
And only I can feel the sorrow inflicted
