ONE DAY MY HEART WAS WANDERING
One day, my heart was lost in thought,
So sad... confused... a love distraught.
It longed to find a melody,
A song for sailors lost at sea.
Upon a boat, his music played,
A tune of shells, the waves obeyed.
The wind of love, it swayed so high,
Then whispered low, a longing sigh.
She whispered, "Oh, how divine!
Is this the shell's own song so fine?
Or is it just a flute’s soft cry,
A lonely reed beneath the sky?"
Sad... confused... his heart confessed,
"Oh sea, you know, I gave my best!
Yet still, you throw me to the sand,
Though I reach out with trembling hands.
I sing to you, my heart’s refrain,
So you may hear my love’s own pain.
Your restless waves, they rise and fall,
They tried to hold me, through it all.
They longed to kiss me, touch my face,
But doubt had stopped their wild embrace.
They closed their eyes, they turned away,
Yet still, they dreamed they'd find a way."
Again they tried, from far then near,
A chasing tide, a love sincere.
Oh, waves so lost, how hard they tried,
But fate had left them unsatisfied.
Your tides grew tired, yet still they stayed,
They never left, they never strayed.
With every note, I sang my pain,
A love so deep, a lost refrain.
A love so vast, I won’t forget,
A heart so torn, a soul in debt.
And when your waves reach out once more,
I’ll sing again... just like before...
