I walked alone in the middle of the night,
A song playing softly, lost in my mind.
Thinking, what is wrong with me?
Why does loneliness never leave my side?
I don't want to just go with the flow,
I want a life, to truly live, to grow.
But why does it feel like no one is near?
Why is there no hand to hold, no voice to hear?
Then suddenly, the wind embraced me tight,
A whisper soft, yet filled with might—
Oh dear, I am here, always near,
Why do you feel lonely when I am right here?
The cool breeze wrapped around my soul,
Like a warm embrace, making me whole.
I am making you strong, the wind sighed,
So no one can break you, no one can make you hide.
"But it hurts," I whisper, voice so small,
"I want to lean on someone, to give it my all.
To rest my head, to say I’ve tried,
But no matter what, things don’t go right."
Then again, the wind passed through my soul,
A touch so pure, making me whole.
I am here, it spoke once more,
And I cried, for I felt it to my core.
"But I am not good," I said, eyes wide,
"Why do You love me? Why stay by my side?
Why don't You leave, like everyone does?"
Yet the wind only held me, gentle with love.
Tears fell, yet a smile grew bright,
For in that moment, bathed in the night,
I knew—I was never alone.
For He had always been there, calling me home.
