"Whispers of the Everlasting Tide"

"A Love Beyond Time, Carried by Fate and the Ocean’s Embrace"

By LynnPublished 12 months ago 2 min read

The first time Daniel saw her, it was by the sea—

Where twilight kissed the restless waves,

And salt clung to the autumn breeze.

She stood alone, barefoot in the sand,

Tracing secrets into the tide,

As if the ocean might remember them.

She turned, and her gaze met his—

Eyes deep as midnight, filled with echoes

Of stories untold, of lifetimes missed.

A single heartbeat stretched to eternity.

He did not know her name,

But something in her presence whispered: Familiar.

They met again, as if fate insisted,

In the quiet hum of a bookstore’s glow.

Fingers brushed—once, twice—over worn pages

Of poetry bound in fading gold.

Her laughter, soft as a melody long forgotten,

Wrapped around his ribs like ivy.

And when she spoke, it was not words,

But the sound of home.

"Have we met before?" she asked,

Tilting her head like a bird in thought.

Daniel smiled—slow, knowing.

"Not in this life," he said, "but maybe in another."

And for a moment, silence cradled them,

A lull between past and present.

Time became a gentle thief,

Stealing days, then months, then years,

But giving love in return.

Winters passed with whispered confessions

Under candlelight and frost-painted windows.

Summers were tangled in sheets and laughter,

Their love stitched between moments,

Too infinite to measure, yet fleeting as a breath.

But love is never without its storms.

One night, the tide returned to claim her.

A sickness, quiet as the moon,

Crept into the marrow of her days.

He held her through the whispers of dawn,

Tracing her every heartbeat like scripture,

Memorizing the rhythm of her breath.

"Promise me something," she murmured,

Her voice fragile as seafoam.

"If there’s another life after this… find me."

His fingers curled around hers,

A vow sealed in silence.

And when the tide pulled her away,

Daniel sat alone by the shore,

Listening to the waves breathe her name.

The ocean carried his tears,

And the stars held his prayers,

As he whispered back,

"I will."

Years later…

A young woman stands at the water’s edge,

Barefoot in the golden dusk,

Tracing secrets into the tide.

A man watches from the distance,

Heart echoing a memory he can’t quite place.

She turns, her gaze meeting his—

Deep as midnight, whispering: Familiar.

And somewhere, between the waves and the wind,

Love begins again.

The End. 💙
