In shadows deep, my soul once walked,
Through silent nights and days that mocked.
A heart once whole, now cracked, worn thin,
Haunted by what might have been.
.
I carried years like stones in hand,
Drowned in rivers no one planned.
Fingers reached for fading light,
But darkness swallowed all my sight.
.
Loved and lost in cold embrace,
Memories etched lines on my face.
Laughter turned to distant cries,
Beneath these never-ending skies.
.
A life I lived, now just a scar,
A broken road both near and far.
Pain, my only faithful friend,
Walking by me to the end.
.,
If time would let me take it back,
I’d rewrite roads gone off the track.
But all that’s left is this harsh strife—
The aching weight of a past life.

this is such a poignant point made beautifully about life. well done.
Your piece made me feel that longing… Like the past reaching for the present. Makes you sit and wonder, and that’s golden. Love how your words echo softly, even after reading
