Whiskey Glassful of White
And two of my latest girlfriends.

This little poem is written in response to an unofficial poetry challenge "A day in the life"

Home alone I am tonight
with stir-fry sizzling on stove.
I bathe in warm and golden light
that’s shining on me from above.
I pour myself a glass of white
and taste-test noodles, steaming hot.
They make up pair so wondrous
just missing tiny pinch of salt.
I serve them up, refill my glass,
getting ready to devour.
I take a seat with sigh at last–
it all got done in less than hour.
One click away is company:
my girlies Grace and Frankie.
These two I always love to see,
be they awkward, fun or cranky.
All cozied up in armchair comfy,
the sun now grazes my last of wine.
An evening spent with food and me–
serene, much needed, quite divine.
