Where Pride Ends

Where pride fades and humility finds its true place.

If you ever feel so proud and high,

Like you’re better than the world nearby,

Take a walk where the tombstones stand,

And feel the quiet, like a gentle hand.

.

Beneath the ground, the great ones lie,

Kings and wise men, who couldn’t deny,

That no matter how strong they became,

Time took them all, with no one to blame.

.

The graveyard speaks in whispers low,

Saying, β€œOne day, you’ll be here below.”

No matter your pride, no matter your fame,

In the end, we’re all part of the same.

.

So if you feel like you’re on top,

Remember, pride can make you stop.

Stay kind, stay humble, and do your best,

For in the end, we all find rest.

.

In the silence, we learn so clear,

That pride fades, but love stays near.

So walk with grace, with no need to boast,

For we all become just a quiet ghost.

I love this! It’s so easy to get caught up in pride, but we’re all just passing through. Staying humble and kind seems like the best way to go.

This is beautifully humbling! The imagery of the graveyard as a silent teacher is profound, and the gentle reminder to stay kind and grounded hits perfectly. It flows with a timeless wisdom that lingers long after reading. Poignant and heartfelt!

This was superb! Your style of poetry is very similar to mine. I love the rhyming structure here and the lyrical flow to the words. The ending is also excellent, a very impactful final message.
