Where is My Mother?

I find myself with no family because they are gone

By Arthur Caliga Published 5 years ago 1 min read
In a dark car, Mother is nowhere to be found

Where is my Mother?

Where is my Father?

Within a dark car,

I clung to my bear.

All around me

Fear and Despair.

The sounds of cold iron,

Screaming along a line,

Like a thread waiting to break,

Will this one be mine?

A man opens the door,

Speaks in another tongue,

Shouts at us to get out.

Feet hit cold white powder,

And above black smoke

Billows from screams that get louder,

I want my mother.

Where is my mother?

Why are we here?

What have we done?

Are we going to disappear?

Move the guard says,

I look up to a white cloudless sky,

a small gray piece lands in my hand,

I touch it,

it fades away,

And leaves a remnant.

Something that was taken,

I want my mother.

Mother?

Mother where are you?
