Where Are You Childhood?
A Journey in Time and Dream

Where are you, childhood, in my forgotten world,
Hidden among memories, in corners of the soul, hidden?
I look for you in every smile, in every look,
But you seem so far away, like a star lost in the silks of clouds.
I keep your games and sweet days in my heart,
The first bicycle ride, on paths of dreams and longing,
The laughter on the hills, in the sun, under the clear sky,
I keep in my memory all your charm, all the longing of now.
Where are you, childhood, in my world today,
When time has rushed and the years have gathered like a story?
I find you in my eyes now, in the old desires and hopes,
But it seems to escape from your hands, like fine sand, untainted and fugitive.
You were there, in the flower field, where thoughts flew freely,
Under the shade of old trees, with leaves that whispered stories,
And every summer, when the burning sun burned our cheeks,
You were pure joy, endless play, the innocence of another time.
You were in the spring days, when everything bloomed in the soul,
When every flower was a wonderful adventure, a secret to discover,
And every dewdrop, a shining pearl on the green grass,
What made you feel that the world was a magical place, full of miracles.
Where are you, childhood, in the world that has changed so much?
I look for you among forgotten moments, among old houses and parks,
But all I see are shadows, relics of days gone by,
And an endless longing to be there again, in the world of innocence.
I remember the days of play, when time didn't matter,
When we ran carefree, with a heart full of dreams and hopes,
Without worrying about tomorrow, without shadows of anxiety, just flying and smiling,
And happiness was simple, like a game and a child's song.
You were there on summer nights, when the stars danced in the dark sky,
And I whispered stories to the moon, while the world fell asleep in silence,
When I dreamed of magical worlds, of adventures and heroes,
And you, childhood, were the magic that filled my soul with courage.
Where are you, childhood, in the days when time seems to have been left behind?
I find you in every tear of joy, in every sincere smile,
In every game of hide-and-seek, in every minute of freedom,
But also in the sadness of those days, when the world seemed so big and heavy.
You were in the stories I listened to from my grandparents,
In stories about fairies, knights and fierce dragons,
In every charming word, in every lesson of wisdom,
Which taught us to be good, brave, and always dream further.
You were in the school days, when we learned to write and read,
When every page was an adventure, a universe to discover,
And even if sometimes we were sad or afraid,
You, childhood, always gave me the strength to move forward, with serene eyes.
Where are you, childhood, in today's world, full of agitation and worries?
I look for you among memories, between the games of the past and the dreams of that time,
And I wish I could find you, I could bring you back, at least for a moment,
To be able to live those days again, to be able to lose myself in the pure happiness of childhood.
Maybe you are hidden in the souls of the little ones, in their pure gaze,
Or in their laughter, unafraid of the world around them,
Maybe you are there, we just need to look more closely,
To rediscover the magic, innocence and joy that were once given to us.
Where are you, childhood, in our hearts as adults?
Maybe we need to remember to be freer and purer again,
To keep that shine, that unspoiled faith within us,
Because, deep down, childhood does not die, it just hides, waiting to be found.
So I call you, childhood, with all my memories and dreams,
I call you in every step, in every thought, in every moment of silence,
Because you are the light of my life, the innocence and eternal magic,
Where are you, childhood? I await you with an open heart, with longing and sincere love.
