When we danced

Silently...Then out loud.

Top Story - July 2025

I remember a time when we danced until dawn peeked shyly above the distant sky

inquisitively...the approaching morning eavesdropped upon what shadows reveal when it tiptoes in

the horizon Blushing as we spun to one last heartsong

and laughter sewing stars into the sky as our bare feet

traced rhythms on moonlit cobblestones amid gentle sighs.

The music wasn't born from strings,

but from the pulse between your smile and mine,

each gesture a swinging musical note

in the breeze of passing time.

Around us, shadows held their breath,

watching joy blooming from night into morn

and sunlight, not wishing to disturb our silent tango

approached tentatively...shy as a secret lover,

peeking in with golden fingertips.

We didn’t pause or stop

not when the crickets chorused their applause,

not when the owls tucked their wisdom back in feathers

we danced until reality burned our skin with the grinning sun

and laughter blistered delight on our shoulders

like badges from dreams too stubborn to fade.

The cobblestones shone like glassy-eyed dots,

slick with morning dew,

and your shadow clung to mine

ink still bleeding from the stars.

Let the sun gloat as it halts our footsteps

let morning crow victory over moon-touched hearts

we’ll still be there, flickering between the sunbeams,

two dancers shimmering in morning's twilight, fading like fog into day's embrace.

πŸͺ‘πŸͺ‘

Now, two twilight storytellers sit, rocking gently as the sky leans in to listen.

Their silhouettes echo years of laughter, loss, and stubborn rebellion.

two silhouettes forever rehearsing

the nights that they still danced

Daring to outlast dawn.

Thoroughly loved this love poem! Felt so genuine and carefree! I could definitely sense the emotion throughout as the two lovers danced.

"we danced until reality burned our skin with the grinning sun" ^This line right here is GORGEOUS. I felt that in my chest and was instantly taken back to times I watched the sunrise with old loves. Thank you for a great poem :)

This was so dreamy and really felt good to read. Memories will continue the dance even when arthritis slows the real dancers down. Lovely work, Antoni!
