When the Moon Waned
A breakup love poem

The full Moon, bright—
promised Sea {the Earth}: pulled
her closer to ✨the sky.✨ At night,
Moon’s love lured Sea high on sand—
caught her star-shaped fish,
cloud-urchins,
.:land:.
When Moon waned, Sea’s tide
broke apart—
~dried her~
heart.

Amazing, Gina!! The moon and tides are such stunning images and you used them masterfully
Beautiful
Awww, that was so sad. I loveeeeee the metaphorical language you've used here!
This is beautiful, but I feel sorry for the sea. 😢
Awww, this just felt so sad to me :( Loved the rhyming of the last few lines. This was, as Dana said, well worth the wait :)
A beautiful nonet, dedicated to a couple of my favorite things. It was worth the wait!
