When The Dew Drops

Beauty Grows

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Dew drops gather anxiously

awaiting the unknown

Plunging headfirst into what could be

Setting free and letting go

No regrets no consequence

Simply being in the now

I could lose myself in your embrace

As the breath escapes your mouth

Like a criminal who’s been set free

Longing to be caught again

So the autumn leaves fall from the tree

To renew again in spring

Simple joy comes in acceptance

And receiving what may come

Each morsel more delicious

When we know where it comes from

So let the weight rest on my shoulders

May I feel its sleeping power

To ignite the flame that smolders

Revealing the tender flower
