When smiles weep
Laughter that hides pain, the smile that mask sorrow.

Ha ha ha ha jokes on me, ha ha ha how ironic,
My smile so bright tells a tale,
A tale of hidden wounds, unseen, untouched,
A story of shadows dancing behind my teeth.
A masquerade of light hiding the storm,
So much darkness so much pain,
Yet laughter spills like a broken melody,
Like echoes of a song I never learned to stop singing.
Tears no longer measures the weight,
Falling like rain, thicker than blood,
Carrying burdens too heavy for words,
They dried up long before my heart healed.
Numb all over, yet I still feel the pain,
We're all smiling but not all happy.
Excruciating, suffocating,
The world spins, the show goes on.
What else to do than laugh it away,
Like the wind will take it away,
Like whispers lost in the void,
Ha ha ha bitter sweet, what a facade,
A contradiction, a cruel irony.

Very beautiful poem! The phrase 'laughter spills like a broken melody' perfectly captures the contradiction of happiness and pain.🌞
Beautiful piece
We all smile, but not every smile means happiness. When Smiles Weep is a glimpse into the laughter that hides pain, the smiles that mask sorrow, and the weight of emotions we don’t always show.
