When Love Dies

Hearts Try To Hide The Hurt

I don't remember the day

the exact hour or place

Or the song that was playing

as I scoured your face

Trying hard to recall

the love that we shared

Digging deep into my soul

to find a part that still cared

But I knew it had died

though I tried to cover it up

I argued and denied

that we'd fallen out of love

The tender moments we knew

and the passion that burned

Like the seasons, it flew

and our tides quickly turned

Till we felt nothing at all

no anger, no joy

Left lifeless, like a doll

or a useless old toy

But somewhere deep inside

kept with the webs and the dust

Lies a memory that cries

for the ending of us

Ki: Un~Requited: "True-Love" "We cannot force people to love us or be faithful to us. People change and evolve; for better or worse. Either the attractions or feelings towards one another are still there or they just aren't for whatever reason, regardless of how we try to whip our minds around it." - Jk -

  • And the fragility of relationships is so well-expressed here. Well done, Kelli!
