What the World Needs to Know

The world needs to know this:

We are entering the Darktime,

where the unfortunate will be tossed aside

because they didn’t pray enough to the 'right' god.

The world needs to know this:

*

The coming Darktime will celebrate

the Bully, by broadcasting his amorality

as strength, thereby making us feel weak.

*

The world needs to know this:

*

Trucks will come in the night to take

your neighbors away, their citizen

children too, all shipped to black camps on the border.

*

The world needs to know this:

*

The dream that was this country lies

in mortal peril, the damage of 1/6/21

only the opening salvo of the long battle to come.

*

The world needs to know this:

*

We will only overcome the Darkness with Light.

We must see the folly of separation and division,

realize once again we are one people, all of us.

*

I cannot see the how of it all, but I know the why,

that this great experiment of humanity can only be

redeemed through compassion and care and love.

*

And the world needs to know this.
