The Fool and The Hanged Man

By David MuñozPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

I awoke this morning thinking of The Fool,

his message of spiritual rebirth

echoing within me.

*

Even though I’ve been at this work

for 1,178 days now, scratched more

than 2.1 million words onto this

*

electronic papyrus,

*

I know I’m only at the beginning

of my journey. A new start,

not without risks, as I delve deeper

*

into the shadows of my being,

soothing those aspects of my Self

that arose to keep

*

the young soul within me

safe and sound. Longing for acceptance,

that boy-soul within, now

*

learning to trust Love, trust Creation,

trust forgiveness and self-forgiveness

in order to truly heal.

*

As the dream slipped away and

wakefulness came, I noticed my

body’s pose:

*

on my back, left foot drawn

to right knee. The pose of

The Hanged Man.

*

And his message to me:

Be still. Let the old slip away,

make space for the new,

*

and know for true

that you

are

enough.
