One of the most difficult life lessons to learn is that things aren’t always what they seem to be.

All that glitters isn’t necessarily gold; the taste of what looks sugar isn’t necessarily sweet.

Let the five senses embrace what lies beneath.

A gleam of gold masks eyes of lies,

Voices croon gently, hiding dire sighs.

Soft velvet-like, freezing to the touch,

Scented air veils the odour of the unseen,

Taste truth’s bitterness—hidden behind the screen.

I love this, especially that final line. It really hit me hard. Great use of the senses as well.
