What I Love About Christmas

It is my favorite holiday.

By Darla M SeelyPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

The tree lights which shine ever so bright;

Feeling warm from the fires at night,

Gifts and baked goods some neighbors share;

All of the presents wrapped with care.

The stockings hung by the fireplace;

Seeing the smiles on a child's face,

Unexpected gifts by our door;

People who help the needy and poor

Christmas carols and cards we send;

The kind greetings shared with a friend,

Love which is shared in many ways;

Spectacular concerts and plays

Seeing kids sit on Santa's knee;

Hearing them laugh and shout with glee,

Remembering the real reason

That we celebrate this season

Holiday

    I like how you vividly describe what we tend to see at Christmas time and how you reminded us of the real reason we celebrate it. The holidays is such a lovely time of year, even writing and reading about it brings us cheer. Your poem made me happy Darla, well done.
