What I Feel in the Wind

A series of haikus

By Sarah LoydPublished 3 years ago 1 min read
Art by Elisabeth Loyd (my sister)

For those who don't know a haiku is a short-form poem with only three lines. The first and third lines must have five syllables and the second must have seven syllables.

Feel it in the wind

Gentle hug like a blanket

A cool breeze to touch

***

Feel it in the leaves

Change is not too far away

See it in gold flecks

***

I welcome the change

With open arms of intrigue

What is to come next?

***

I feel the wind blow

Upon my face, I breathe in

The chance to be free

***

A chance to be free

From nature's heat and sunburns

Clouds are lovely friends

***

Feel it in the wind

Whispers of the coming days

I am ready now
