What Honesty Sounds Like
Lacking a Little Warmth

In the end, we're all sad stories
with social security numbers
Collecting fake smiles and sympathy
that eventually, nobody remembers
Gathering what's left behind
lost rewards and little treasures
Grabbing what happiness we find
one day claimed by our successors
I know this sounds a little dark
a taste of what honesty might sound like
Lacking in a little warmth
void of love we'd hoped to find
But sometimes life can take its toll
leaving you empty and alone
Trying to heal up our souls
with well wishes made of stone

I read something one that stated we all die twice. 1 being when we die and the second time is the last time someone ever mentions our name
I was a geriatric mental health nurse and part time I was also an activities assistant/director and we always did a Remember when activity. Good job.
Dear Ki - I volunteer my time at Senior Centers to help residents write favorite memories 'For Their Kids Someday' - They all have them: I wrote 'Life's~Circles' as a tribute. It's very meaningful for so many lonely souls; I recommend it for our VocalBucket peeps. - My Respect - jk.in.l.a.
My god, this is so true. Well done, my friend.
Very true, Kelli. Sad but true!
