What Am I?

I gave you warmth and peace

I danced for you on demand

We cackled in bliss

I was there to comfort you

And when you were angered,

I let you throw the punches.

Because by the end of it all,

You looked at me with curiosity, and I,

Flickered flirtatiously, like embers in the air

And even though you snuff me out time after time,

I keep coming back,

The way you look at me, like old times
