Weeping Parts (Poetry)

Sometimes to heal yourself, you need to see how hurt you've actually been.

By Svetlana DudorovaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

All these parts of myself that I’ve lost in a protest –

I am rallying them all,

looking closely at each.

Some are cut.

Some are torn.

All still bleeding, unnoticed

on the background,

creating this mess,

this one leech.

Here. This is what’s causing the weight I can’t manage –

all these scars, heavy wounds, empty holes.

They keep draining

my joy.

They continue to weep.

Simple bandage

of setting aside will not help.

Time for reigning.

What’s my recipe?

Wipe off this mess.

Gather guts.

Roll sleeves up and start washing each piece one by one.

Then, like puzzle combine.

Redesign.

Glue the cuts.

Look again: is ‘me’ hurting?

Repeat until done.
