Waves

Waiting for the waves

I stood at the beach, waiting,

For a wave strong enough

To sweep me, carry me away.

Time went by.

Waves passed by.

But none were enough to sweep me,

None enough to lift my burdens.

Some kissed my feet,

Some shook me,

Hoping to bring me back to my senses, maybe.

A futile attempt.

And so I stood, still waiting,

Wondering if I was meant to be swept at all.
