Water, Light, Innocence

Light breaks water.

By Antoni De'LeonPublished 7 months ago 2 min read
Waterfalls in unusual places

Is there anything more splendid than a radiant happy child

.........lost in curiosity

She sits smiling, her entire being infused in gentle stillness

Her inner glow shines luminescent, bright...sparkling...alive

Awe meets her imagination, lost in the water in which she is immersed

.........bathed in light

A gentle breeze rustles through the leaves on the nearby trees

They guiltily eavesdrop on this winsome, youthful quietude

There is fervidness in the waterfall's ripples...an urgent eagerness

........the delicate streams of water cascade forth, joyfully

Admiring the rare glimpse of purity in motion

Light, seeing the lovely child, enraptured, lost in the wonderment

...........of youthful bloom and thought

begrudges water the blessing which it embraces

Impetuously, light glides down on golden rays of delightful splendor

Playfully nuzzling the delicate waves of the tiny waterfall

Radiance illuminates the scene in a beatific, blissful glow of delight

Water laughs at the audacity of light's impudence...

And a child shall lead them...light replies, not to be outdone

..........it muses on the little wonders of life and nature

Tenderly, the imagination of the little one wanders to the purpose of creation

She is the manifestation of light and water...the perfection once emblazoned upon everything

...........The innocence written eons ago...at the beginning

She sees the world in her hands, hers to love, nurture and care

The child Imagines her existence in a world embosomed

............in peace, love and harmony

Clasped in an ever loving embrace, as was preordained

in a time long lost.

Unconsciously, without prior intent or purpose...

A little lamb brought clarity and enlightenment to a world

...........which could not exist without dreams

The interplay of light and dark manifests

Light breaking through the mire which humanity, stubbornly

.........has erected around sanity and good sense

Water, the life sustaining liquid, welcomes the light to guide the way

...........to renewal

Doing so

On behalf of the children, for it is within their innocence

That the path forward shall be written.

From the essence of every child may light continuously break through the waters of human inconsistencies and ambiguity of thought and reason.

For it is up to them to mold what has become clay into solidity once again.

They are the hands of tomorrow and the the world lies soft beneath their feet,

A shapeless mass of dreams and doubt, once firm with age, now incomplete

As if a sculpture which time has hollowed out.

Their fingers shall press the yielding clay,

With hearts unscarred by the dust, rust and wear of war,

They must shape what we let fall away, and build what we could not restore.

They will not fear the cracks we've made, but yet patch them with a fiercer glue.

Hope settles where their touch will revive, and blossoms in that hallowed space.

So let the old hands gently rest,

And trust the young to form what's best.

Now and ever...Let it be so.
