Walking Through Fires

These are cheeky lyrics I wrote for a conglomeration of my female friends whom are single, unmarried and of mature age. Some of the lyrics have been inspired by the women i have mentioned in it.

I catch my own spiders

And change my own tyres

And I won’t tolerate liars

Watch me now babe, I’m walking through fires

I am headstrong and demanding of respect

They say the wild one

So, don’t try and tame me

Don’t try to frame me

Because I won’t wear your labels

Raised on Quatro, Greer, Madonna, and Kahlo

I hold my own and make my own

If I forget your name

Maybe I’m just not that into your game

I can catch my own spiders

And change my own tyres

And I won’t tolerate liars

Watch me now babe, I’m walking through fires

I’ve become like a virgin

But, don’t try to touch me, or it will be for the very last time

You can open my door

But don’t carry me across the floor

Thresholds just aren’t part of my lore

Except for dancing

I don’t rely on you, or these feet

Why would I when I’ve got these wings to fly?

So, now I must leave you

As my sisters are in the mountains

Calling out my name

Because we catch our own spiders

Change our own tyres

And we won’t tolerate liars

Just watch us now babe, we’re walking through fires
