When you've tried to stay positive and find the good,
and still nothing seems to help the way it should.
There is a breaking point and discouragement is high,
and you wonder if you have anything left to try.
Why must it be so hard to keep your eyes lifted above the waves?
Why is it so difficult to place your faith in the one who saves?
You must trust that there is a purpose and a plan,
But you cannot help but feel as if you are sinking in the sand.
Where, oh where, are you? You seem so far.
Says your heart, as it cries, seeks, knocks, and then melds into a scar.
Who do you think you are, gallivanting, gazing past, leaving scars?
Your menacing mind races through the night as you search the stars.
Spotting a familiar star you feel like a fugitive running from bars.
Those bars are so familiar, almost as if they are home,
Like disgusting vomit you return to in your aimless roam.
But remember the crafted crown that was worn,
the horrible happenings, the misery made, and shameful scorn.
Those inflicted precious scars,
have finally brought healing to ours.

Spotting a familiar star sounds poetic, but I’d probably just end up making a wish for snacks.😆
