Walk By And See My Light

Relax In The Glow

Falling asleep with the lights on

Laying awake in the dark

Scorched by a love once empowering

Left with what’s left of a spark

Maybe because I’ve been lazy

Maybe I gave up too soon

Maybe tomorrow will be better

Maybe I’ll forget about you

I’ll dress in new clothes and perspective

Throw away the thoughts of defeat

Like the reflection I leave as I go

Like - what I have left of me

Until then, I think I will be open

For whatever life puts in my path

Get me some wine and a candle

And soak in a long bubble bath

sad poetry
