Falling asleep with the lights on
Laying awake in the dark
Scorched by a love once empowering
Left with what’s left of a spark
Maybe because I’ve been lazy
Maybe I gave up too soon
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Maybe I’ll forget about you
I’ll dress in new clothes and perspective
Throw away the thoughts of defeat
Like the reflection I leave as I go
Like - what I have left of me
Until then, I think I will be open
For whatever life puts in my path
Get me some wine and a candle
And soak in a long bubble bath

Those last three lines! I enjoyed this so much, and now I want wine and a nice soak :) Lovely work
Fabulous! Loving the last line!!!
This was really good and I had to have a little smile at the end.
This is nice, great calming ending. Cheers.
Oh the bubble bath sounds more up my alley anyway. Great poem Kelli.
Sometimes we do have to take a step back and just go with the flow. I loved this poem!
