Voices

your mind is a prison, they are always there

They crawl,

wiggle,

dance.

They play with your feelings.

Enjoy all your emotions.

Together they waltz.

Hand in hand.

With the spark of life deep inside.

Whispering and laughing

as you do what they tell you.

Digging deeper and deeper

into the crevices in your mind.

You try to rip them out,

to resist their calls,

but they dig their way in.

Further and further,

darker and darker.

They start to overcome

the strength in your mind.

The voices grow louder

and stay longer.

Before you know it,

they are all you can hear.

Eating away at who you used to be

and all you want to be.

Until eventually,

you aren't you

they are you

and you are through ...
