Whose The Puppet Now?

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Hey, it's me again. You thought you locked all the doors, but I got in

You don't belong here; I'm finally safe here. I been making lots of changes since I've been here

Don't belong here? Yes, I do! We're connected you and me, man, I AM you; and you are me too; and together we are we, I'm your skin, man

You don't know me, you control me. Tying my mind up in your ropes, but I've found other ways to cope, so go on, leave.

Oh, wow, demanding! Those are some fancy words you've learned, I wonder, should be concerned? But I can help, see.

Not anymore, k? I'm doing better since you went away, so go on, scram! I AM better when you're gone, haven't I made that clear enough? damn!

But you are sick, and I should know. I'm living here inside your head, hiding in your periphery, I feel everything you feel, I know what makes you feal real, I make you tick. You see, you're nothing without me!

Okay, stop!

SILENCE

The pendulum swings, releasing me from the me I used to be.

Enter: HOPE

Hope cuts the rope created for setting me free to be me.

Well-wrought! Sorrow is but a mask, hiding peace from those that would steal it away. They grasp and grasp, but they've no hope for hope has won the day.

The conflicting emotions and struggle for control are palpable throughout. The use of dialogue adds depth to the internal dialogue, highlighting the speaker's desire for independence and self-improvement. The poem delves into the complexities of identity and the intertwining nature of self-perception. Leaving us with a glimpse into the intricate workings of the human psyche. We‘re deeply moved by the poem. Loved it. And hope to read more of your work. Thank you very much again for sharing this spiritual journey that touched our hearts. Subscribed.
