911, what’s your emergency
Well, I’m not sure, just feeling odd
Tell me you name and rank the urgency
It’s about ten, just call me god
*
Call you what? State your location
Just watch the news, that’s where I am
Sir, stop playing around, share your information
I already have, it’s not a scam
*
The dispatch heard a loud commotion
The tv flashed the tragedy
The whole thing started with a notion
A lost souls grasp at clarity
*
I didn’t mean to hurt nobody
She heard his voice crack on the line
The lawn was covered up with bodies
Evidence of his heinous crime
*
This is dispatch, sir, are you still listening?
Yes, I am, but not for long
Buying more time for repositioning
He whispered; I know what I did was wrong
*
But no-one ever paid attention
She answered, well, you've got it now
It's too late now for intervention
We need some answers, when why and how?
*
A shot rang out, across the phone-line
Dispatch pulled her phone away
The caller spoke, his words benign
Another life could not be saved
