verbalising
a little stream of consciousness

those who helped me
taught me what I ought to do,
those who did harm
taught me what I’ve not to do,
those who left me neglected
taught me that the thought of you
is not enough -
action is what helps
when times are tough,
love is a verb
not just a word,
it cuts through suffering -
makes the voiceless
heard

Beautiful and powerful as always Kayleigh!
Make the voiceless heard, that line was soooo powerful! Loved your poem!
Love is a verb. Oh yes it is.
This is a very relatable poem. It's very powerful and thought-provoking. The lines "those who did harm / taught me what I’ve not to do" especially hit me hard. Well done.
So powerful and absolutely reigns true!
Short but very impactful. Great poem Kayleigh 😊
