Ventriloquism for Royalty, Royal Voices – part III

An Epic Saga with Kelli and MC

By Cathy holmesPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

Ingrit stood in silence, stunned

at the audacious blue-eyed toad.

How dare he steal her voice, for fun?

How dare he be so crass, so bold?

“What’s wrong, sweet lass? Toad got your tongue,”

he snickered, as the words he croaked.

The raven laughed, from where it clung,

atop the mighty magic oak.

The branches quivered, the raven flew

and soared above the enchanted tree,

then vanished in clouds of cotton blue

to return with a shrew dressed in lingerie.

The shrew was dropped at Ingrit’s feet

and both let out a horrendous squeal.

Ingrit’s voice was not her own, but a squeak,

then a caw, then a croak, which was not ideal.

The creatures, they then spoke in turn,

each in Ingrit’s human tongue.

The anger on Ingrit’s cheeks did burn,

the creatures, they did turn and run.

But then they stopped, there in their tracks,

they fell and rolled ‘round in laughter,

at the angry princess and her verbal attack,

who could be cursed with a croak hereafter.

The toad, then he devised a plan

how they could all use their voices for better,

“as a ventriloquist menagerie, we form a clan

“and we'll rule the land forever.”

How did I miss parts one and two? This was bizarre but excellent fun. A shrew in lingerie is not easily forgettable!

  • Intriguing development, Cathy. I like it.

Well-wrought! The toad, unlike the frog, does not seem to care much about kissing!
