Update On National Novel Writing Month
Being on track with NaNoWriMo for 50,000 words this month
So what can I say, except that I have done this before and it doesn't scare me anymore. There is some excitement/fear, well, maybe a lot, but I care about getting it done now. Yesterday, I didn't quite meet my goal but I created a table of contents, wrote all the titles in, and edited some - sigh!
Creativity is questionable as I expected to write fiction, or at least I was duh hopeful that it would be fiction. But I started as a pantser, aka flying by the seat of my pants. No pre-planning for me. No character development, no plan for direction or plot, no nothing. Instead, I am writing what I know.
You may have guessed it. About me you see. I have been talking about me, my long-term recovery, and my life in two worlds. That is what I know see, that made sense to me as it was the start and all I had was a title and photo of fall and something I thought would make a good fiction story. No go!
Well, I managed to fit in a reason for the photo and title in case I choose to use it. I have to say that this NaNoWriMo has been great for putting new material together for a fundraiser creation that I can print myself. It has worked before a few times now. I don't have to find a publisher or editor as I am that.
Okay, I do find edits after it is published and up for sale for the fundraiser and the topics are a fit for the crowd and usually sell, just no curtain raiser. Some years I sell the rest or place them in a gallery or gift shop for sale. It is the materials and time involved are mine, and the fundraiser is a big hit.
NaNoWriMo feeds my writing passion
it doesn't matter that I won't cash in
If it was fiction, I may have put it in the
hands of a publisher, and made some uh
money. Back to writing on NaNo. Duh.
Authors Note: Hope this counts as poetry as it is far from 600 words and it is over 100. Is that still a thing? I can't tell anymore.

Lol, it didn't seem like poetry to me. Perhaps it would have been more suitable to be posted in the Writers community. But it's all good. I wish you all the best for finishing your Nanowrimo
This is a fantastic update! It's inspiring to see your dedication to your writing, even if it's not following your original plan. Your honesty and self-awareness about the challenges and rewards of NaNoWriMo are refreshing. It's great that you're using this opportunity to explore your personal experiences and create something meaningful. Your commitment to your craft and your ability to adapt to unexpected twists and turns are truly admirable. Keep up the great work, and I'm excited to see what you create next!
I do not think it matters anymore. I mainly write short and very short pieces now and that is easier for me. I just posted a few 50-word book critiques yesterday and there will be more today. I am also trying to complete a poetry book that was going to be a print book but decided to make it an ebook instead.
