Snow, Sledding, Snow Snakes, Santa, Serenity
Someone safe sharing some smiles splendidly
Years ago, when I was just a child. Spending time with cousins was wild.
We went sledding on an old car hood. Some of us stood.
There was ice cream made of snow. My little siblings in tow.
We made snow snakes and played games. I am better at my aims.
As children, we couldn't wait for Santa to arrive. I was only five.
I had my tonsils out that year. I shed more than a few tears.
All the winter fun helped to keep my mind elsewhere.
We spent so much time outdoors and I never wanted to be anywhere
else. Thinking back brings me so much peace and serenity.
It was a great way to spend my fifth year of life restfully and pleasantly.

Glad! I liked this line. ''All the winter fun helped to keep my mind elsewhere.''
Nice work. Denise
This was sooo nostalgic. Loved your poem!
What a great memory to share. I would love to go sledding again somed down on inner tubes down steep hills.
I miss those carefree days! Nice work.
Wow, this poem is absolutely beautiful! You have captured the innocence and joy of childhood winters in such a vivid and heartfelt way. The imagery of sledding on an old car hood, making snow snakes, and the mention of ice cream made of snowβit's all so nostalgic. I could feel the excitement and warmth of those moments despite the cold. Truly magical! Youβve done an amazing job bringing these childhood moments to life. I canβt help but smile thinking about my own experiences. Absolutely brilliant work....I think you are a great poet. Go checkout my latest piece and do let me know if you relate to it
