Until...

The Phoenix Rises

The Phoenix by M. K. Brackett 7/24/2025

Stupid

Useless, Ugly

Monster

Sweet nothings whispered

By my hellborn angel

Between “I love you”s

And “Don’t you love me”s

Venomous words

That bruised muscle

Tore ego

Twisted faith

Until…

Shattered

Empty, Embittered

Broken

In the silver etched glass

A pond’s reflected truth

The veil of lies broke

And showed the remedy

Empowering words

That healed a heart

Mended the mind

Renewed trust

Until…

Rising

Standing tall, Shouting

Strengthening

I have become the phoenix!

Born from ashes, I am flame!

Born from trauma, I was rescued!

And with open arms

Healing words

To gild broken pieces

Light the darkness

Embrace hope

Until…

Intelligent

Powerful, Beautiful

Precious

Sweet nothings whispered

Between “I love you”s

And “I’m proud of you”s

Loving words

To guide my children

Break chains

Laugh, Love

Live…

Until.
